What’s So Bad About Watch Noise?

When the “noise” of watch is mentioned, I’ve always assumed that folks are referring to the ticking of the second hand, or the noise of the automatic movement, both of which I personally enjoy.

I guess I’ve never judged the quality or value of a watch based on how much noise it makes. I tend to actually listen to the movement of each watch. I’m fascinated by the fact that each has a different sound.

Sure, some are much louder than others, some are very faint, and some make no noise at all.

Either way, for me, it has never been a make or break issue, but something I rather enjoy and look forward to. I find it quite relaxing to be honest.

I’d be interested to see (or…hear) examples of what some would consider to be a “loud” watch.
